US Tax Manager - group structures, private equity funds, and fund management businesses
Salary range: £50,000 - £70,000 + profit share bonus dependent on experience

Overview
You will be a US Tax Manager working in the Business Advisory Group working specifically with group structures, private equity funds, and fund management businesses.
Responsibilities
To manage a portfolio of clients with a focus on US/International group structures, including private equity funds and hedge fund management businesses.
To take full responsibility for the tax compliance and consultancy requirements of the client portfolio. This will include manager level reviews of the relevant tax returns, as well as advising clients on tax issues such as effective group structuring, check-the-box elections, QEF elections and PFIC reporting etc.
Interaction with the Personal and Family Wealth Tax Groups where the principals of the client's business are also personal tax clients
Appropriate professional networking and new client development, including handling initial contact and correspondence with potential new clients.
To work as part of the existing management team of the Business Advisory Group to grow and develop this core part of the business.
To manage junior and senior staff and take an active role in their training and development.
To take responsibility for the financial aspects of your client portfolio including billing and managing aged debt, with support from the firm's finance department.
Knowledge requirements
Comprehensive US corporate and partnership tax knowledge.
Experience of the US tax treatment of foreign corporations and partnerships including a good understanding of PFICs and CFCs.
Solid understanding of the check-the-box regime.
Comprehensive experience of reviewing forms 1065, 5471, 8865, 8858 and 8621.
Preferred Experience
Enrolled Agent or CPA qualification preferred but not essential.
UK corporate and partnership tax experience preferred but not essential.
Preferred competency in US and UK personal tax including UK domicile and residence issues.
