Working a hybrid model split between remotely from home and Portsmouth
We are currently seeking a Full Stack C# Developer to join a market leading insurance company.
You will be working in a service-orientated environment built on the latest .NET technologies including MVC 5, Web API 2 and Entity Framework. Our development processes are underpinned by a continuous integration and deployment pipeline, specifically TeamCity and Octopus Deploy.
In addition to excellent ASP.NET skills, a strong knowledge of T-SQL is essential. Other beneficial qualities include experience of a DVCS (e.g. Git or Mercurial), testing frameworks and everything that goes with them (NUnit, Moq etc), and API design and implementation (we use both SOAP and RESTful services).
Experience with Azure and cloud computing principles - including Git, CI/CD, Service Fabric and Micro-Service architecture.
The team works on the agile methodology, so you can expect plenty of interaction with stakeholders, daily stand-ups and sprint planning/retrospective meetings. You'll be working on a powerful dual-screen desktop with the ability to remote in from home.
Responsibilities
- Project: Develop and maintain in an MVC environment, work with household brands, huge new development potential
- Provide development and on-going support for all eCommerce and reporting applications and associated systems.
- Monitor and maintain the externally hosted server farm to ensure security and service continuity. Undertake capacity planning and management to deliver acceptable performance and service levels for implementation of best practice.
- Develop, maintain and undertake performance tuning of SQL Server based databases.
- Liaise with business personnel to gather new and existing requirements and complete relevant documentation.
