Job description
We are seeking a Legal Secretary to join the Dispute Resolution TMT team in the Brighton office of a leading Legal 500, highly respected law firm.
The successful candidate will
- Have prior secretarial experience
- Have fast and accurate copy and audio typing skills
- Have a legal background and knowledge or experience of Litigation and family support would be an advantage
- Have strong IT skills, including the ability to use tracked changes
- Have strong attention to detail
- A professional telephone manner
- Be a strong team worker
- Have excellent communication
- Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
The successful candidate will
- Be preparing correspondence, reports, memos, forms, bundles and bills
- Be completing standard forms without assistance and template letters
- Review incoming mail in the absence of fee earners
- Handle telephone enquiries
- Open and close files using standard procedures, maintain an efficient filing system and review files to identify where follow up action is required
- Carry out basic accounting transactions
- Costing and preparation of bills
