Job Description

Working within a small SOC team your role you'll be carrying out a range of security assessment duties to keep the business safe.

You will be managing system events and alerts, focusing on building and implementing security solutions to protect a large, complex, multi-faceted organisation operating around the globe, using tools such as Microsoft Azure Security Tools.

You will take part in rebuilding and rethinking the company's platform to allow them to reach their growth targets over the next few years. Starting from a blank canvas they have a clear roadmap of valuable products to work on, and this will see you work closely with leadership in engineering and other colleagues to build a Go based services solution for the future.

Your duties as a SOC Analyst:

  • Design information security systems and solutions within challenging timeframes and within budget. Recognise, investigate and respond to security events, both automated and manual.
  • Your role ensures the total IT security of our data through complete & timely administration of our security products.
  • Monitor the output of vulnerability assessment tools, use positive relationships with system owners to fix the issues. Offer insight to the latest IT Security trends, helping to deliver new and dedicated solutions to the business.
  • Support the 1st and 2nd Line of defence risk functions. Ensure we adopt a one best way approach, producing local guidelines where appropriate.

The Successful SOC Analyst

You will have 1-3 years' experience within a SOC, ideally working within an end user, financial services organisation, or have strong security analysis skills in a similar role and be able to quickly adapt into this type of role

Communication skills are paramount, as you will be liaising with senior business stakeholders, and it is critical that you are able to explain the 'so what' of technical information to a non-technical audience.

You will also have experience Microsoft Azure Cloud Security Tools.

You will be a critical thinker who can work under pressure, adapt to an ever changing landscape, and be a first

You will ideally have a related degree, as well as having strong knowledge of security practices and compliance standards around PCI DSS and similar subjects.

This role in time will be on a rota to support international parts of the business, which will involve a week a month being available remotely on phone/laptop to respond to incidents/queries.
