Technical QA Manager - Top 100 Global Insurtech

Main Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the continuous development and mentorship of the QA team (c.20 testers), taking a proactive approach in driving forwards and improving the test strategy. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that training, tools, and processes required are defined and in place. Naturally, you will be responsible for making sure testing requirements are adhered to so that commercial initiatives are being met
The successful QA Manager will also be responsible for
- Continually develop your team of QA Engineers to build and maintain a positive, effective and efficient team, this includes objective setting, coaching and training.
- Proactively research and evaluate new tools and technology trends to demonstrate external findings and drive improvements internally
- Provide quality assurance evaluation, estimates on various projects, including the ability to execute vision, goals and direction
- Ensure that testing is being directed based on current needs, in line with the defined roadmap
- Monitor, measure, control and report on team progress, supporting your team to ensure their ability to deliver on their commitments and team objectives
- Assess pipeline of activities and escalate any threats to the delivery timeline
- Toolset analysis to create business case for requests for new tools/changes to existing ones
As a QA Manager, you should be
- Proactive self-starter, who can work with minimal supervision
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong (English) written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and handle competing deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment
The successful QA Manager will have
- Proven ability to lead high performing diverse and inclusive teams
- Professional experience with deployment and testing tools such as Octopus, Test Rail, Jira, etc.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders (other teams, vendors, suppliers, etc.)
- Good knowledge of security test practices, performance testing and automation frameworks
- Previous experience in writing scripts - C# is an asset
- Demonstrable experience developing and executing plans including risk management
- Strong team and stakeholder management skills
- Exceptional organisation and prioritisation skills with a passion for continuous improvement
- Flexible, resilient, with a good commercial acumen coupled with a high degree of intellectual curiosity
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge about Netsparker, LoadNinija, Azure or Selenium Webdriver or equivalent tooling
- Previous exposure working with a SaaS product, a high-growth company or in the insurance industry
- Experience with threat modeling, OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK Framework, monitoring and alerting tools, Sonar
