SENIOR SAS DEVELOPER - MI - INSURANCE

Our client, a Times Top 30 major UK insurer, is looking for an experienced SAS Developer to join their MI Team on a mix of BAU and project work, including a future migration to SAS VIYA. As a Senior SAS Developer, you'll support the MI Manager in providing meaningful MI to the business, helping support our client's thriving financial and operational performance. About our client

Location: must be commutable twice a week to offices in either Manchester, Haywards Heath (West Sussex) or Whitstable (Kent)

Key tasks will include but not limited to:

• To support the MI manager and MI Senior Leads to build and manage the BI platform
• To support department data initiatives which help to inform the overall strategic direction of the business
• To mine large data, providing data and management information reports to inform decision making
• To constantly review the way data is processed in the business, looking for ways to improve running times and efficiency
• To be an advocate of data governance activities, policies and procedures
• To help drive continuous improvements in data quality standards
• To assist with the resolution of known data issues, ensuring root causes are identified and sustainable solutions are developed and implemented, liaising with IT to fix issues, as required
• To help ensure that day to day data processing completes, to agreed timelines with no failures, high level understanding of the Data warehouse as a whole from end to end

The ideal candidate:

• Experience of writing SAS code or use of SAS EG or SAS VA
• Experience of SAS DI studio
• Experience of T-SQL & Power BI
• 3 years' experience in a BI role
• Advanced Excel
