Purpose of Role:

The role holder is responsible for providing a supportive role in implementing our strategy to optimise customer outcomes and profit for non-core products and additional services revenue.

With a growing understanding of the marketplace and the future direction of travel in this space, you will input into our customer centric, science-based approach to building class leading solutions. You will work closely with multiple business areas across the estate to ensure results meet or exceed budgeted performance criteria.

What will my role entail?

* Input to customer and internal projects and programmes related to ASR/AIP.

* Maintain an understanding of the current and emerging opportunities and risks from all segments covered by the role.

* Recommend and advise peers on possible courses of action and associated likely outcomes for the business and customers. Seek advice from Team Lead or Manager where required.

* Use of company, industry, regulatory and technical knowledge to drive profit, efficiency and customer outcomes maximise competitive edge seeking advice from Team Lead or Manager where required.

* Input to the development and delivery of product roadmaps and market penetration projections.

* Contribute to the Portfolio UW Lead in the development and implementation of product strategy, incorporating the identification of potential business opportunities and threats across this segment.

* Work with external partners and suppliers to understand to deliver maximum customer and business value.

You are a good fit for the role if you have the following…

* Knowledge of the insurance market for the portfolio you are working within

* Proven underwriting experience

* Understanding the delivery of profitable business through management of risk mix and underwriting performance

* A focus on results with the drive and energy to deliver

* Capability in delivering as part of cross business teams

* Knowledge of the digital, direct telephone, online and aggregation distribution channels and their separate customer and risk profiles.

* A growing understanding of underwriting and trading using current technologies including machine learning and optimisation.

* Experience of using products and propositions to drive customer appeal and loyalty.

* Ability to identify and anticipate potential business opportunities/threats.

* Growing knowledge of the regulatory and legal framework within which the personal lines market operates.

* Ability to liase with stakeholders using sound judgement and growing technical knowledge.

Support the design or redesign of our products to changing customer needs and propositional elements as they relate to the overall role scope. Build relationships with claims to enable provision of effective repair/replace and claim defence strategies

Provide support with regards to customer interaction to enhance our customer propositions

Work with Pricing to assess and gain an understanding of the impact and opportunities presented by developments within the overall role purpose.

Maintain an appropriate underwriting footprint via appropriate pricing, aggregator filters, underwriting rules.

Input to Product Governance reviews

Keep abreast of changes in the market, including competitors/distributors. Undertake competitor product reviews.

Input into reinsurance programmes, enabling a clear understanding of the portfolio and impact on the risk profile.

Utilise your industry knowledge to answer queries from = the company, and externally when required.

Devise rules and analyse output of underwriting tools to detect and remove unwanted, suspicious and potentially fraudulent business at the 'front door'.

Eliminate pain points for customers, challenge how the industry operates and promote a

positive force for Fixing Insurance for Good Use data/technology to deliver intelligence throughout customer lifetime to become a market leader and drive exponential growth
