Gerrard White has been retained by Outset Limited to find their new Corporate Solicitor to join their busy and tightly knit Corporate team, based across the UK.
Location:
This unusual yet truly exciting role will see the successful Corporate Solicitor having full flexibility over their place of work (e.g. fully remote, hybrid working or being based in their offices).
The role:
The successful Corporate Solicitor will be responsible for leading on a range of Corporate transactions, supported by excellent junior resource. Transactions will include (but are not limited to):
- Mergers and Acquisitions
- Shareholder agreements
- Sales
- Corporate reorganisation
- Management Buy Out/Buy In
- Joint venture
Outset Limited act for a number of buyers and build acquisitions; some examples include:
- Large veterinary practice with M&A transactions up to £70-75 million
- A large private equity backed investment client, with deal values of £5-10 million (typically 10-15 deals per year)
- Financial Services client (typically 2-3 deals per year)
- Paper Industry acquiring a number of business, with deal values £7-8 million (typically 2-3 deals per year)
- Currently acting for a Marketing company in a £15 million deal
Background/skill set:
The successful Corporate Solicitor will offer the following skill set/background:
- At least 4 years PQE
- Previous experience of leading on deals
- Strong technical skills - in line with PQE
- Excellent knowledge of sales of corporate business (acting for buyers)
- Business development skills (not essential)
- Keen team player
The culture:
Outset Limited have a professional yet relaxed culture, where emphasis is placed on delivering an exception level of client care. As such, there is less emphasis on billing targets (they do not have any!), and staff work closely together. They have a healthy split with some staff working in the office and some home-working (some even work abroad), and yet they are incredibly tightly knit. Working hours:
Ideally the successful candidate will work full-time, however 5x shorter days will also be considered.
