Up to £70,000
Hybrid Working (2 Days Office/3 Days Home)

Gerrard White are working with a leading Occupation Health provider who due to significant growth are looking to expand their team, and are looking for a Data Engineer to own & manage our growing portfolio of data infrastructure.

Working as part of the Development and Operations teams you will be responsible for a growing range of data services, from Customer Facing Line of Business data stores to MI / Reporting systems and integrations with third parties.

Our ideal candidate will be prepared to take ownership of our existing data infrastructure, be able to provide insight into operational effectiveness and understand the impact of change. They will also participate in the development cycle of our core products, acting as the technical authority for system changes and green field development

Duties and key responsibilities:

* Technical authority for the data platform and services
* Review proposed change documentation to provide timely and meaningful feedback and estimates.
* Create detailed, comprehensive, design specifications and implementation plans
* Support release planning by providing estimates, priorities, and impact assessments.
* Work to support the existing teams - Development / QA / Operations / MI with BAU queries and planned development
* Develop appropriate governance frameworks and processes
* Stay up to date with new technologies
* Participate in Change management processes
* Provide cost management reports and recommendations

Qualifications and essential skills required:

* Demonstrable experience of developing and managing Azure Data Services, including
o Azure SQL Servers and databases
o Data Factories & Pipelines (ETL / Transformations)
o Power BI management & report creation
o Automation & monitoring
o Diverse data storage, including Blob, Table storage & CosmosDB
* Good understanding of Data Warehouse principles
* Proven experience in data cleansing & data quality assurance for enterprise applications
* Strong T-SQL skills
* Demonstrable experience of diagnosing & correcting poor query performance
* Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
* Experience of BCP / DR / Risk Management and planning

Desirable skills:

* Experience with Python or other data processing languages
* Experience of data classification tools and systems
* Relevant Data Certifications (For example Azure Data Engineer)
* Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics
* Experience with Azure Databricks
* An understanding of Azure ML
* Experience of Office365, SharePoint, Forms integration
* Experience with performance and security testing
* Experience of managing sensitive data
* Experience of working in an ISO27001 Information Security Management System environment.
