Employee Relations Partner

Hybrid - 2 days per week in either Tunbridge Wells, Sunderland, Peterborough, Bristol and Portsmouth

FTC Maternity cover until June 2024

As an ER Partner at Markerstudy, you will be embedded in the business, as part of the wider HR team, delivering high quality employee relation services and contributing to the delivery of the People Strategy.

You will be working closely with people managers to coach and encourage their development in handling all ER matters within their teams, ensuring that HR Operations support the achievement of organisational goals. You will be responsible for providing expert and commercial ER advice and guidance to line managers and colleagues on a wide range of ER issues from absence through to large change programmes, performance management, welfare and disciplinary matters.

You will be comfortable in communicating at all levels, from colleagues to senior level stakeholders. Communication will be key, as will being able to handle a variety of cases from volume matters in our contact centres through to complex cases in some of our more specialised teams.

What will you be responsible for as an Employee Relations Partner?

Reporting into the HR Manager, Employee Relations

  • Manage your own cases from beginning to end in conjunction with your stakeholders
  • Manage and support in hearings as appropriate
  • Provide confidential and independent advice to managers on all ER matters determining which queries require specialist support
  • Highlighting high risk cases and working with legal to minimise that risk
  • Attend business meetings to inform and stay abreast on people matters
  • Provide MI to stakeholders
  • Deliver ER based training sessions
  • Support the specialist people related elements of change management programmes

What will it take to be successful?

  • Very good complex HR and ER knowledge gained through extensive experience of case work at all levels of the organisation
  • Up to date knowledge of employment law
  • A commercial approach
  • Ability to influence across all levels, with experience of using consultative coaching styles to support Line Managers
  • A team player that is able to work autonomously
  • Forward thinking and proactive
  • Be able to work across multiple cases and prioritise workload
  • Occasional Flexibility - our colleagues work a variety of shifts across multiple sites, sometimes we need to accommodate that.
