Front End Web Developer
Insurance
Hybrid remote working : Tunbridge Wells, Kent / Remote from home
Gerrard White is looking for a Web Developer to join a market leading and expanding insurance provider. This is an opportunity for someone who has a passion for front-end user experience to join a dedicated team of both on-shore and off-shore Web Developers to deliver the best online user experience to customers. This role will work collaboratively but with the opportunity to provide input through your own ideas.
The team work on a range of content-editable (CMS) based sites across a multi-brand business.
Key tasks:
- Contribute to the development of new projects delivering cross browser compatible websites from inception to completion as well as helping to achieve goals in BAU work streams
- Maintain and update transactional web solutions delivery key projects through a continuous program of design and development improvements
- Identify and fix any bugs prior to deployment
- Deploy changes to the live environment
- Communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of digital projects
Suitable candidates:
Front end development experience using W3C standards including:
- HTML 5
- CSS3
- jQuery/JavaScript
- Mobile site development and responsive layouts including frameworks such as Bootstrap 4
- Ability to write server-side logic within front end code, e.g. C# Razor
- Knowledge of Umbraco or other CMS would be beneficial
- Familiarity with developer toolsets including Git source control with Visual Studio Team Services and JIRA project tracking software for user stories and defect tracking would also be advantageous
