Claims Transformation Programme

Outside IR35

Tunbridge Wells, Kent and remote

We are currently looking for a Programme Manager to lead a Claims Transformation Programme for a large insurance group.

Personal Lines Insurance and Motor Claims experience is required.

Key tasks will include:

  • Define the programme's governance structure, proactively monitor progress, resolve issues and manage risks and report at regular intervals
  • Develop and manage to an effective stakeholder engagement plan and ensure business leads and subject matter experts are mobilised for success
  • Plan and design the programme to deliver the programme goals with clarity on the decomposition of projects and work-streams
  • Manage the programme budget with a focus on delivering value for money. Monitor costs against budget, provide accurate forecasts and track enablement of benefits
  • Provide effective line management to project managers and coaching/mentoring to other programme team members
  • Ensure successful delivery of changes from the projects and work-streams are to expected quality, time and budget in line with the overall programme plan and adherence to the agreed governance framework


Essential Requirements:

  • Insurance experience, personal lines with Motor claims experience.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years' experience in programme management with a strong track record in delivering to cost, time and quality, ensuring flawless execution and full extraction of benefits.
  • Experience of designing Claims change projects which align all elements of the organisation e.g. strategy, processes, systems, structure, values, behaviour, skills, engagement and communication.
  • Proven ability to lead, engage, and influence up to and including board level.
  • Led programme teams of 50 people.
  • Strong coaching skills and ability to transfer knowledge and techniques.
  • Financial literacy (budgeting, reporting, interpretation) and managed £multi-million budgets.
  • Ability to broker pragmatic solutions that strike the right balance between competing requirements.
  • PMI / MSP or similar qualification essential.
