Regional Commercial Underwriter - North of England - Perm - Hybrid

Join an established MGA as a Commercial Underwriter, working regionally in the North of England, developing new and existing relationships with brokers to place business within primarily Commercial Combined and Liability products.

The Role

This Commercial Underwriting position will suit a self-starter who likes variety, the autonomy to manage their own time, and thrives on meeting with brokers to solve problems, and do on-site underwriting.

You will be working for a forward thinking business with a panel of over a thousand brokers who access products via direct agencies or networks. They have a select panel of Partnership Brokers who hold direct agencies to its exclusive schemes, offering increased commissions and Service Level Agreements for partners.

You will underwrite both new and renewal business across a product range that includes Commercial Combined and Liability, as well as property owners against pre-set targets with Head Office.

This is a role that will focus on clients in the West Midlands and North of England, will be based remotely but will require some travel to the Southern based Head Office.

• You will be expected to perform to the highest of standards and in accordance with FCA and PRA set Conduct Rules, acting with the utmost integrity to represent the business.

What are the requirements for the successful Commercial Underwriter

You must be a self-starter who is able to work independently, manage your own time working remotely and visiting brokers.

It is essentially that you have strong Commercial Underwriting experience, with a key focus on Commercial Combined, Liability, and Property, and have worked closely with Commercial Insurance Brokers and Insurance Companies.

You will have experience in underwriting with DA or licences, have a strong track record in initiating and developing relationships with brokers, deliver against targets, and achieve results using your initiative.
