Due to expansion, we are now looking for a Credit Hire Claims Handler to join the supportive and collaborative Third Party team in one of 5 locations: Manchester, Haywards Heath, Tunbridge Wells, Chelmsford or Whitstable.

As a Credit Hire Claims Handler, you will be looking after a portfolio of claims where you will be responsible for looking after your customers from the initial report of the claim, through to closing and predominantly looking after the credit hire aspect of the claims, ensuring that the claim is settled effectively.

Some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Ensuring you are meeting all regulatory requirements and being compliant with each claim.
  • Responding promptly and pro-actively to incoming telephone calls and correspondence by use of telephone, e-mail and letter.
  • Maintaining good file discipline and accurate reserves, together with an effective diary system which ensures that cases are reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Controlling claim cost by achieving most economical settlement, through pro active use of the telephone making outbound calls, good use of liability and quantum arguments and effective negotiation.

You will ideally have a track record of managing a case load of claims, partnered with strong communication and customer service skills.

You will also need:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience in a Motor Claims Handling role
  • Understanding of claims negotiation and cost potential
  • Ability to manage own workload and prioritise tasks
  • Commercial awareness
  • Willingness to develop and learn
