Job description

We are seeking proactive, customer-focused Claims Handlers to join our growing team.
In this role, you will manage motor claim tasks, focusing on Indemnity and Liability decisions, while keeping customers informed throughout. You will handle claims by exception, working only within your remit, and use your technical expertise, negotiation skills, and communication abilities to ensure decisions are made efficiently, fairly, and in line with regulatory standards and business objectives.
Full training, a personal development plan, and clear career progression opportunities are provided. Performance is measured against transparent KPIs, with annual reviews and opportunities for pay progression.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Handle allocated motor claim tasks in line with company processes and service standards.
  • Manage inbound and outbound customer calls professionally.
  • Make empowered Indemnity and Liability decisions to deliver the best outcomes for customers and the business.
  • Control claim costs through robust negotiation.
  • Communicate confidently with customers, third parties, and suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate records, reserves, and task management to ensure timely claim progression.
  • Work within agreed authority limits, escalating when necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and business partners to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Keep up to date with FCA, DPA, and TCF requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Take ownership of your personal development, supported by training and coaching.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in a motor claims handling environment is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of indemnity, liability, third-party risks, and related heads of claim.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, balancing customer service and cost control.
  • Confident communicator with proven telephony and customer service skills.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Commercially aware, adaptable, and eager to learn and grow.
  • A team player with a proactive mindset and a can-do attitude.
