Claims Handler - Property Damage

Job description

We’re looking for proactive, customer-focused Claims Handlers to join our expanding Third Party Property Damage team.

In this role, you’ll handle motor claim tasks relating to third-party property damage — managing cases by exception and taking ownership of tasks within your remit. Using your technical knowledge, negotiation skills, and clear communication, you’ll help deliver fair and efficient claim resolutions that align with both regulatory standards and our business objectives.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Handle allocated motor claim tasks in line with company philosophy, processes, and service standards.
  • Manage inbound and outbound customer calls, delivering excellent service and clear communication.
  • Review and make payments on Vehicle Damage, Special Damages, and Static Property claims.
  • Control claim costs through robust negotiation and effective use of evidence.
  • Maintain accurate records, reserves, and task management to ensure timely claim progression.
  • Work confidently within agreed authority limits, escalating when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, suppliers, and third parties to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Ensure full compliance with FCA, DPA, and TCF standards.
  • Take ownership of your personal and professional development, supported by structured training and coaching.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in motor claims handling is desirable, but full training will be provided.
  • Understanding of indemnity, liability, and third-party risks is advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to balance customer care and cost control.
  • Confident, professional telephone manner with proven customer service experience.
  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and workload management.
  • A team player with a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
  • Commercially aware, adaptable, and eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
