Gerrard White are working with a leading cloud services provider who offer an integrated suite of managed services, from cloud optimisation and application modernisation to networking and self-serve tools to support a range of businesses from SMEs to multi-national corporations.
They are looking for an experienced, driven professional with a passion for technology and building customer relationships to join their growing team as a Senior Microsoft UC Specialist.

Main Responsibilities:
To provide third-line professional technical support for the Managed Service customers with the aim to fix all incidents passed to them from 1st line. This will be achieved by effective troubleshooting and diagnosis of more complex incidents which cannot be resolved by 1st Line.
You will have excellent understanding of Lync/Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams applications, and the interaction between them as well as understanding the interaction between the UC stack and the wider Microsoft software. You will be able to work through issues that impact the UC stack, presenting your findings to a wider audience.

Third Party Knowledge
- Understanding of the integration between third party solutions and impacts on the UC platform
- Understand of support processes for third parties and able to leverage them at suitable opportunity
- Ability to understand the root cause of an issue and communicating this to third party and customers.
Process Improvement
- Understand current processes in place within the department
- Where processes can be improved, able to explain why the improvement will be beneficial to department
- Suggest technical improvements to monitoring to ensure that system availability is increased
Mentoring Other Support Specialists
- Able to identify knowledge gaps and help support specialist with improving their skills
- Be approachable to support specialists so they can bring issues to their attention
Essential Skills:
- Strong understanding and background of designing and supporting complex Skype for Business infrastructure in a large corporate environment. The role requires a highly technical skillset, specifically in Microsoft Skype for Business and SBC/gateways
- Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory and supporting services
- Administration and maintenance of Session Border Controllers such as Acme Packets, Ribbon/Sonus & AudioCodes
- An independent, self-starter capable of managing their own workload
- Highly organised and able to multi-task effectively
- Aptitude for quick problem resolution whilst working under pressure
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable working a fast-paced environment
Desirable Skills:
- PowerShell administration and scripting
- SQL Server administration and maintenance
- Architecture and design experience of Skype for Business hybrid and resource forest deployments, Team Direct Routing, O365, MIM/FIM and 3rd party products such as Verba Call Recording, Anywhere365 & SphereShield
