Job description
We are looking for a Divisional Head of Product Underwriting to join a large multi-brand insurance group (focussing on Motor Insurance). You will manage and optimize the insurance portfolio, oversee and manage the underwriters and analysts, and take responsibility for the delivery of their combined business plans and day to day management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Management: Strategically manage and optimize the company's insurance portfolio to maximize profitability and minimize risk.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of underwriters and analysts to ensure high performance and adherence to company goals.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks effectively.
- Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to make informed decisions.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and stakeholders, providing exceptional service and addressing their insurance needs.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze portfolio performance, prepare reports, and make data-driven recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in motor insurance portfolio management.
- 2 years of leadership experience.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance products, regulations, and industry best practices
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proven track record of achieving portfolio growth and profitability
- Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Business, or related field (advantageous)
This role is remote, however will require travel to a local office for meetings depending on business need
