Family Paralegal

A great opportunity has arisen for a paralegal to join a well-established, Legal 500 Legal Practice.

If you are enthusiastic and ambitious with a passion for family law, then this is a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your skills and pursue a career in family law.

You will be supporting an experienced Partner in the family and child law department, and there may be an opportunity for you to have your own caseload.

Previous family and child law experience and legal aid experience essential.

This firm actively encourages training and development and really invest in the future of their employees. They can offer training contracts after around 12 months of employment and have seen several paralegals progress to partnership within the firm.

Candidate requirements:

  • Family law experience essential (6 months minimum)
  • A law graduate with a 1st or 2:1 university degree or completed their GDL with commendation or higher
  • Possesses excellent written skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good at working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Team player


Duties include (but not limited to):

  • Providing legal support and work closely with the partner to progress a complex and varied caseload (including both public, private and legal aid cases).
  • Manage and support all aspects of case preparation
  • Assisting the Partner by gathering information for cases, identifying missing documents
  • Conducting legal research, document drafting and client interviews as per the Partners instructions.
  • Preparation of correspondence and documents through typing and word processing.
  • To administer day to day filing which includes the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files
  • Preparation of mail for despatch.

In line with experience, there will be the opportunity to manage and run your own caseload, under the supervision of the partner.
