Internal Auditor

Job description

We are currently seeking a talented Internal Auditor to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organisation's assets, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and identifying areas for improvement.

The role is hybrid working but there will be requirements to travel to sites across the UK

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
  • Examining financial statements, transactions, and operational procedures to identify discrepancies, irregularities, or areas for improvement.
  • Developing plans and programs, determining scope, and conducting thorough and objective audits in accordance with established standards.
  • Collaborating with departments across the organization to promote compliance with policies and procedures and to implement best practices.
  • Monitoring and following up on audit recommendations to ensure timely implementation and resolution of identified issues.
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory requirements, industry trends, and best practices in internal auditing.

Qualifications:

  • Achieved a relevant professional qualification or studying towards (Part Qualified) (ACA, ACCA, CMIIA, ACIS, CIA, PQIA);
  • Proven experience in internal auditing, risk management, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of auditing principles, practices, and standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify areas of risk.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly and persuasively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
