Legal Counsel (Commercial) - Maternity Contract
Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 coupled with an excellent benefits package
Location: Work From Home Or Sevenoaks, Kent

Overview
To assist the Deputy Head of Legal to provide advice and assistance to the Markerstudy Group of Companies.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing, updating, drafting and advising on general commercial and other contracts for the supply and/or sale of goods or services agreements
- Review, update and improve procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Advising on general commercial matters and agreements
- Conducting legal research as required
- Keeping up to date with changes in legislation that may impact the Group
- Assisting with and advise on all other legal matters relating Group companies
- Providing support on projects and legal issues as and when required
- Providing general assistance to Group General Counsel
- Providing general assistance to internal business clients with legal related queries
- Liaising with internal clients in a timely, professional and courteous manner
- Dealing with contentious matters as and when required, including but not limited to drafting letters before action, settlement agreements, attending court or tribunal hearings
- Providing other general assistance as required
- Undertaking other reasonable responsibilities and projects as instructed by their line manager
Qualifications
- Solicitor / Barrister with at least 3-6+ years post qualification experience
Key Skills and Knowledge:
- Good IT skills; thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and Outlook
- Good team-working skills

- Participate in meetings and negotiations in the course of which contracts and agreements are developed with customers/suppliers.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines but at same time keeping work and advice to a high standard
- Ability to deliver legal advice to non-lawyers in a common-sense manner
- Ability to work comfortably autonomously and as part of a team
- Proactive and capable of working unsupervised
- You will have the ability to advise, engage and negotiate with all levels of the business and be capable of undertaking a wide and very varied caseload, balancing priorities accordingly.
