Residential Property Paralegal
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Residential Property Paralegal to join a well-established, reputable firm based in Eastbourne. This firm pride itself on being a modern practice who are always approachable and provides exceptional service to its clients.
The successful residential property paralegal will be working closely with the Head of Department who specialises in commercial property matters and high-net-worth/complex residential property matters. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in some interesting property matters and learn from a team of experts.
The ideal candidate will have some previous experience in conveyancing; however, this firm will also consider recent law graduates who have the right drive and ambition to succeed. There are excellent training and support measures in place, and you will receive close mentorship.
In this role you will:
- Have strong administration and typing skills
- Have excellent IT skills & the ability to use tracked changes
- Be working with dictation, drafting forms and letters
- Generate client letters and documentation
- Prepare applications for registration at Land Registry
- Carry out Land Registry searches and Local Authority searches
- Carry out basic accounting transactions, handle financial enquiries, prepare statements, invoices and liaise with accounts.
- Assist in preparation and submission of Stamp Duty Land tax returns
- Manage telephone enquiries
- Scanning and filing
- Open and close files
The successful candidate will:
- Have strong academics, educated to undergraduate level, or have obtained some education in Law, or have a background working in a legal environment
- Have strong attention to detail
- Be highly professional, have good communications skills and an excellent telephone manner
- Be adaptable and helpful, and work as a good team player
- Have a good standard of written English and grammar
- Knowledge of conveyancing is preferred but not essential
