About You
The successful Software Engineer will be an enthusiastic and inquisitive individual, who can think creatively to solve problems and meet user requirements. You must have a keen interest in software engineering and be ready to research and learn new techniques, languages and frameworks. Working with a DevSecOps mindset, you will be developing, delivering and operating applications using a secure approach.
Responsibilities
- Contributing to the development and refinement of user requirements.
- Actively contribute to Scrum ceremonies such as Refinement, Sprint Planning and Retrospective.
- Designing innovative solutions to solve problems and meet requirements.
- Elaborate solutions at a high level and create low level designs that conforms to standards set in TDA (Technical Design Authority).
- Communicate effectively to a variety of audiences including both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Leading Demo Sessions as part of sprint reviews.
- Implementing solutions using a variety of programming languages, frameworks, tools and techniques.
- Encourage and practice TDD and other Delivery Best practices.
- Producing applicable technical documentation.
- Contribute to improvements of our technical excellence and ways of working within Squad, Chapter and Guild forums.
- Actively Contribute to and progress the technical roadmap.
- Mentoring Software Engineers, Graduate and Junior population
- Address Technical Debt and consistently recommend Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Competent in DevOps approach and practices
- Ownership of NFR requirements of solutions.
- Actively encourage and provide knowledge transfer during the delivery stride.
- Encourage and participate in guilds by setting and achieving objectives for the Guilds.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- 5+ years of experience developing, implementing, and maintaining applications written in either of Java, Kotlin or Python.
- 5+ years of Web services development experience using spring boot or similar.Experience with SQL and relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or MS SQL.
- Experience with development tools such as Git, Maven, npm etc.
- 2+ years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), the primary areas of focus being dataflow, composer, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, GKE, Pub/Sub, Vertex AI
- 2+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Service Mesh Technologies preferably Istio or Anthos
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, or Terraform.
Desirable
- Experience leading development teams and deliverables
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, or Terraform.
- Experience with Python, Kotlin or other programming/scripting languages.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Experience working with NoSQL databases.
- Experience with BigQuery is an added advantage.
