Software Tester

Up to £30,000
Gerrard White are working with a leading legal services firm based in the Northwest who are looking for a Software Tester to join the development team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Manual testing, but exposure to Automation will be an advantage also.
You will be responsible for ensuring that quality software is created and deployed. You will be performing manual and automated testing to ensure that systems are fit for purpose and fulfil our mission to build scalable systems and services for in house and for client facing portals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Execute all levels and types of system testing within agreed project deadlines
· Create user stories and/user cases for validity and feasibility testing
· Design and develop automation scripts when needed
· Work closely with peers in the business to understand business process and testing requirements
· Document full testing results, supporting the provision of reporting into the business
· Follow standards and procedures to ensure consistency when testing
· Implement new testing strategies and testing methods
· Work on multiple projects at one time
· Apply quality principals throughout the product lifecycle
· Promote a positive working environment for the team within your area as well as other business areas you engage with
· Ensure consistency with our brand guidelines and other 3rd party branding
· Keep up to date with the latest and emerging technologies
Experience and Knowledge
· Experience as a Software Tester desirable but not essential
· Detail Oriented
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
· Adapt to new strategies/standards and testing methods
· Ability to be objective and strengthen the business focus on testing
· Experience of project responsibility and its impact on project success
· Stakeholder Engagement
· Working in a Multi-task/project environment
· Good time-management and estimate planning
· Flexible approach to work schedules
· Ability to work to deadlines
