Data Modeller - Permanent - Hybrid/Remote UK Working
Gerrard White are looking for a Data Modeller (Snowflake) to support a leading UK insurance company within their Enterprise Data Services division. This is a great opportunity for someone to join an established and dynamic modelling team to create an optimised data environment that supports current and future requirements within a cutting edge insurance organisation.
This role can only accept candidates with right to work in the UK.
What will the role entail for the successful Data Modeller?
You will assist in the development and maintenance of enterprise data models and take ownership of specific project models in a centralised data platform to support descriptive (MI, BI) to predictive (AI, ML) analytic requirements, ultimately helping the business to make decisions.
The function is responsible for modelling and engineering a centralised data platform, creating an optimised data environment that supports current and future requirements within an enterprise scale insurance environment.
Assist with the development and embedding of the modelling function within EDS
Development, publication, and maintenance of enterprise data models
Modelling of data to meet the development and ongoing requirements of the Data Platform (e.g., Data Lake, cloud Data Warehouse) and the Data Modernisation Programme
What are the requirements for the successful Data Modeller?
Aside from being an experienced data modeller with solid Snowflake background, it is paramount that you are a first-class communicator who is able to work in sync with data analysts and engineers, as well as face off to the business as customers to understand their requirements, and how their expectations can be delivered.
The technical requirements of the data modeller are:
Experience working with Snowflake - Essential
Azure or Cloud experience - Essential
Solid experience of modelling methodologies such as Kimball, Inmon, and Data Vault - Essential
Experience preferably with Erwin (ER Studio or Power Designer would be accepted to)
Design and build of data warehouses and data lakes is essential
Power BI as a visualisation tool is an advantage
