Java Engineer

Full Time - Permanent

I'm currently working with a leading, technology-driven UK insurer who are looking for a Java developer to help with their ongoing projects, as well as a large-scale cloud migration from on-premise to AWS.

Our client has just been acquired by one of the UK's top insurers who underwrite circa 1.5 billion in Gross Written Premium, so this is a great and growing company to join. They are currently going through a digital transformation and have a wide range of projects going on.

Key Skills and Requirements:

The successful candidate will have knowledge around APIs, restful principles and AWS ECS containers while understanding event driven architecture, integration patterns and queue systems.

Also looking for:

• Strong Java skills, version 8 and above.
• Experience using Spring 5 and Spring boot 2 developing APIs using Spring MVC or Webflux

• Experience building projects with Maven.
• Experience with Web technologies including REST/JSON using contract first development in Swagger/Open API or RAML.
• Knowledge of Developer Portals, API Gateways either on premise or AWS.
• Knowledge of AWS Fargate and ECS containers
• Knowledge of CI/CD either on premise with AWS Pipeline.

• Knowledge of testing with tools such as Postman and JavaScript
