Conveyancing Secretary

A long-established, Legal 500 firm based in Southend is currently looking for an enthusiastic Conveyancing Legal Secretary to join their property team. Due to an increase in workload, they are seeking additional secretarial support.

This firm is highly regarded in the Essex area and is committed to providing quality legal services to its broad client base of individuals and businesses.

The successful conveyancing legal secretary will have excellent client care skills, accurate typing/audio typing skills, and a good telephone manner.

The ideal candidate will have a positive, proactive attitude to work, and be able to work well as part of and support a busy team. Previous experience as a legal secretary within conveyancing is desired.

This firm often provides their secretaries with additional duties that are similar to that of a paralegal; so this is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to expand their knowledge within conveyancing and potentially progress in the future!

Conveyancing Legal Secretary Duties

  • Opening and closing of client files
  • Handling all aspects of a sale and purchase transactions including ordering searches and assisting in exchange and completion
  • Preparing and amending documents such as lease extensions, deeds, completion statements and Land Registry forms, using the Land Registry portal
  • Providing secretarial support to the fee earner, including arranging appointments, dealing with client queries by phone, together with preparation of correspondence using digital dictation

Salary: £22,000 - £26,000 (dependent on experience)
