Legal Secretary, London

A reputable Legal 500 firm is seeking a legal secretary to join their busy & friendly Dispute Resolution department in central London, near Holborn.

You will be supporting a Partner and a solicitor, dealing with a range of client-focussed secretarial and administrative tasks.

You will assist your fee-earners with admin work, to include monthly billing and file management. You will also assist another two team secretaries at busy times and cover during absences (and vice versa).

This firm are open to junior candidates (e.g., those who have completed a legal secretary diploma or have previously worked in a legal secretary position), or those wishing to make a career change.

The successful candidate must be seeking a genuine career as a legal secretary.


You will also have:

  • Commercial awareness and understanding of how your role contributes to the success of the business;
  • A good standard of numeracy; as the role will include legal billing
  • Good IT skills and fast, accurate typing.
  • Good administrative and time management skills;
  • Strong written and spoken English & excellent interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and responsible team approach;
  • A flexible and adaptable style & willingness to develop and adapt to changing business needs;
  • A professional, confident approach to work.



What's on offer:

  • A competitive salary of up to £30,000 maximum (dependent on experience)
  • 25 days holiday a year (plus Bank Holidays)
  • Company pension scheme.


You will be expected to be mostly office-based for the majority, if not all, of the working week, particularly while training. They are therefore hoping for this candidate to live within a 30-40-minute commute of Holborn.
