Legal Secretary

A reputable and well-established firm are currently seeking a Legal Secretary to join their Private Client team, based in Eastbourne.

The successful legal secretary will provide support to multiple fee-earners in the Private Client department. You will be part of a friendly and collaborative team with a professional and people-focused culture.

This firm's private client team has an exceptional reputation and are well-known in the area.

The successful legal secretary will have:

  • At least 6 months experience as a legal secretary/assistant (ideally in Private Client, but comparable practice areas, such as Family Law, will also be considered).
  • Fast and accurate typing skills
  • Audio typing/Dictation experience is a bonus.
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word
  • Great organisational skills


Duties include but not limited to:

  • Providing full administrative support including using a digital dictation system to produce correspondence and other documentation related to Private Client matters.
  • Maintenance of comprehensive and accurate client admin files.
  • Completion of forms and documents relating to tax i.e., Inheritance Tax.
  • Production of attendance notes.
  • General team administration including photocopying, faxing, filing and scanning.
  • Meeting and greeting clients.
  • Handling telephone enquiries and directing accordingly.
  • Arranging meeting room bookings/travel arrangements.
